Owners RemarksKristen Neuschafer, winner of the recently concluded single-handed 2022 Golden Globe race, chose the Cape George 36 for the same reasons I did: Privateer is fast, seaworthy and sea kindly, meaning crew friendly motion underway. She sails with most 40+ footers and turns out good daily mileage runs. She can obviously be single- handed and is manageable by a crew of two for extended periods. PRIVATEER has the needed amenities without undue complexity. She is of a size that won't break the bank, and presently ready to go to sea or explore coastal harbors. The extensive upgrades add incredible value to PRIVATEER. I'll let the particulars speak for themselves.

There is a Spectra water maker that is not used by the current owner. The sink (with pressurized water), and stove are starboard with chart table and radios to port. Top opening lids for Isotherm refrigerator/freezer serve as the chart table.
The cabin layout is common to Cape George 36 cutters, except there is no forward V-berth. Instead, there is sail and line storage forward, a head on the centerline, a workbench port with a sink, and hanging locker starboard. Hanging line storage are port and starboard. The cabin fans were replaced, and there is a DHR brass trawler hanging oil lamp.
Berths consist of a single to starboard and a pull-out single/double to port, and there are 2 quarter berths.

Competently rewired under prior owner's direction. Shore power connection with 50 ft cord connected to panel and battery charger. Never used by current owner. Four solar panels lead to controller and are integrated into the electrical system. Underway with refrigeration and instruments running, engine must be about every 3 days. The Dingy is a 1985 red Achilles with a 2021 Yamaha 6 hp 4 stroke outboard. The dinghy is patched with a new floor and holds air fine, known as the LADYBUG in the Caribs. The dinghy has seen many ports of call.
